D.D. Sherman graduated Cum Laude, obtaining her degree in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College. She was a regular contributor to the Black Romance and True Confessions magazines under the umbrella of Sterling and MacFadden and have been a finalist in the American Black Filmmakers Foundation (ABFF) and Cynosure screenwriting competitions. She has been featured on the show, “How To Make It In The City,” with Ama Karakari-Yawson, WBAI 99.5FM, where she discussed how she used writing as a catharsis to escape the violence of a dysfunctional home life and urban upbringing. She spearheads her own burgeoning writer’s group entitled, “Novel Ideas,” based in Brooklyn. In her group, she shares her valuable knowledge and her vast experience with novel writing with other hopeful authors to help them bring their stories into fruition.
